Gift Home Constructed in Record Time by “Extreme Makeover” Builder

Simmons Homes will construct a home in a record-setting four days to benefit a local family. Construction on the Operation Faith home will begin Thursday, April 12, 6 a.m., Lake Valley subdivision, 108th St. No. and 145th E. Ave. in Owasso.

“Last September, Kim Bellmyer, a member of the Simmons Homes family received news that is every parent’s nightmare,” said Greg Simmons. “Her eight-year-old son Jordan was diagnosed with brain stem glioma, a form of cancer.”

Because of the size and location of the tumor, it is inoperable, doctors have told the family. Medical expenses for Jordan Duncan were a hardship for the family and they sacrificed their home to pay the bills.

“This hardworking family has done everything within their power to cope with this situation,” said Simmons, “and have expected nothing in return.” The Operation Faith home will be a gift to the Bellmyer family, which includes sister Kylie, and stepfather Kyle Bellmyer. In addition to Simmons Homes, other construction partners have stepped forward to contribute time and materials.

“We hope this new home will relieve some of their tremendous stress and give them a place to spend quality time together as a family,” said Simmons.

Simmons Homes was the builder for the 2006 “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” project in Dewey, Okla. It is a privately held company building single-family homes in Owasso, Jenks, Broken Arrow and Bixby. For additional details on Operation Faith, please visit http://www.simmonshomes.com.
